Call for Workshop Proposals

Submission deadline is January 12, 2025

The ISHI Organizing Committee is now accepting proposals for workshops to be held before and proceeding the 36th International Symposium on Human Identification to be held in West Palm Beach, FL, November 3-6, 2025.

Workshops should be non-commercial and designed to allow for deeper learning and discussion on topics relevant to forensic DNA laboratories. Those submitting proposals are encouraged to construct workshops that are interactive and engaging, allowing participants to learn from each other’s experiences.

Full day (8 hour) workshops may be scheduled on:

  • Sunday, November 2 OR
  • Monday, November 3

Half day (3 hour) workshops may be scheduled on:

  • Sunday, November 2
  • Monday, November 3
  • Thursday, November 6

Workshop proposals will be reviewed by a committee of experts in forensic DNA science. Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  1. Relevance of the topic to forensic DNA laboratories
  2. Quality of the workshop description and objectives
  3. Qualifications of the workshop organizers
  4. Creativity and innovation of the workshop format

A visual presentation (PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.) is REQUIRED for this format of presentation and must be made available to attendees via the conference organizer. 

Workshop chairs will be responsible for inviting additional speakers, organizing the agenda, and determining the specific set-up style (classroom, round table, etc.) of the room. In addition, chairs must collect and review all handouts and provide them to the ISHI organizing commitee for printing by the deadline (approximately September 26, 2025).

Workshop session rooms are equipped with a screen and projector, microphone, and presentation remote. Additional equipment requests can be made during the proposal submission process.

All workshop proposals must be submitted by the deadline of January 12, 2025 through the online portal to be considered. Chairs will be notified about the status of their workshop proposal no later than February 14, 2025.
