Lucky Strike opened its first location in Hollywood, CA in April of 2003, shortly after the iconic Hollywood Star Lanes closed its doors. Star Lanes first opened in 1960 on Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles, and housed 32 bowling lanes. Both The Big Lebowski and The Big Empty were filmed here, and regular patrons were heartbroken when it was forced to close its doors to make way for a school.
As a way of paying homage to Star Lanes, Lucky Strike bought Lane #7 from the former bowling alley, and turned it into a bar in their Hollywood location. Lucky Strike offers an upscale alternative to the typical neighborhood bowling alley, and since 2003, multiple locations have opened around the United States.
In Phoenix, you’ll find Lucky Strike in the CityScape Center located a short 10 minute walk from the Convention Center. Whether you’re interested in lacing up your bowling shoes and knocking down some pins, or just networking with other attendees over cocktails and appetizers, you’re sure to enjoy the evening at Lucky Strike.
The ISHI bowling party will take place after the Welcome Reception on Monday, September 24th from 7:30 – 10:30pm. Highest scoring teams will take home fabulous prizes. The buffet will open at 7:30 and bowling will start at 8:00. The cost for the event is $30, and includes a light buffet, non-alcoholic drinks, bowling, shoe rental, and access to the Pool Table Lounge. There are a limited number of places, so sign up early.
